😱 😱 Hi Im preparing for Step 1 basically with Kaplan notes but some people say that Kaplan notes for Path are useless. Are they right???
Would you recomend Goljan instead...and if this is the case where can I find goljan notes?
Thanks

Kaplan Path = Crap

Goljan = The **** 👍

If you want Goljan, you will have to search P2P or know someone that has it, as its my understanding that he only gives them out to the class he teaches...

You can get them on ebay.

A friend of mine is taking a review course with Goljan right now, and he was harping on about how he DETESTS people ripping him off. Apparently he is suing ebay, or some individuals selling his material on there. This is not my way of advising you not to try to obtain his material. I have had his audio for the past year, and i bought his stars rapid review path which follows the audio really well. He is beyond awesome....tying up all the loose ends, and somehow making it stick in a way that reading BRS for the 50th time just can't. The way he integrates pharm. and micro is also helpful. I have not touched his high yield stuff yet, but am sure it is also money. Back to glomerulonephropathies
🙁

I hate to be rude...but why don't you f*#%ing READ the replies!!! This thread alone gives you no less than 4 ways to acquire the notes...2 of them legal. Be self-efficacious...

as noted by other posters, his materials can be purchased off of ebay for , I believe ~ $30/40 dollars ( IMO the best money you could spend for step prep). According to friends of mine that have gone about it this route, that includes 36 hours of audio, 36 pages of HY notes and perhaps some questions. If you want more Goljan he has various books, including the rapid review one, which has path pictures and questions. This question about ascertaining his materials comes up on here every so often, so if you are having difficulty , do a search, and i am sure it should not be an issue. Good luck to you.

also, with regard to your questions, he is a tenured prof. at the university of oklahoma SOM. If you are interested , the ISBN for Stars Pathology review by Goljan is : 0-7216-7024-5.

actually he is at the Oklahoma State University School of Osteopathic Medicine. I hear people from there do very well on the boards.

Thanks for the correction. I knew it was Oklahoma something or other..yeah I would imagine they would do well.As someone in another thread noted, he should be locked up..he is that good at getting you to think "board wise", and to anticipate the types of connections they expect you to make. Bodybuilder-he is on anabolic steroids, woman with chronic pain who has asthma-think nsaids, sentinel sign on xray adjacent to pancreas..pancreatic adenocarcinoma, if adjacent to cecum then appendicitis, cryptococcus-pigeons, etc. etc. God...I hope listening to him and taking notes every couple of minutes pays off...5 weeks till D-day.

Since I just had Dr G. and have a legal copy of his vaulted lecture notes, i can assure you that his Rapid Review notes are very close to the notes he hands out in lecture, support Dr. Goljan and pony up the $40.

as for the illegal stuff, I'm biased and recommend against it, the Rapid review book comes with 500 questions, I only believe I have somewhere around 1000 total questions that he gave us in his class. The guy worked his ass off creating that material, it's only right he get what bit of compensation he makes off of it.

Goljan Goljan Goljan pony up te cash for the book. support em he is the man.
