im almost done with my first read through the goljan. i found it so helpful. ofcourse i didnt retain everything ... so, i have three days put aside for goljan review, so do you guys recommend i read through the book one more time quickly or go through his highyields (100pg, 36pg)? ive never done the hy...
ive listened to audios as well and found them really helpful. im writing my exam end of july. thanks

When I studied for step 1, I only read through Goljan once...I literally blocked off an entire week and read that book cover to cover to make sure I completely understood every concept. When it came to the real deal I was surprised as to how much I remembered...it will come back to you...believe me I felt the same way after I finished reading Goljan and debated doing another quick run through. But the nice thing about step 1 was that they didn't ask too many detailed questions, so understanding concepts was key...you don't have to know the charts in goljan to the T like the qbanks make you feel...but if you're scoring well on path questions and you understand the concepts I would recommend moving on to other subjects.

I did goljan hy yield as well and kept reviewing it as first aid, there are other subjects covered in hy which is money

are you guys talking about the goljan rapid review of pathology or is there another review book by him for usmle 1 ?

I found that by the time the test rolled around most of my study group knew the HY stuff pretty well so there doesn't seem to be a point to do it again at the expense of reading his book.
