I'm looking for some books to start to get my feet wet whilst in pre med. It doesn't matter if they're over my head; it'll be better motivation to study hard.
House of God by Samuel Shem. As I have lived through med school and residency, I realize how true everything in this book really is.
..not exactly what I was looking for.
You would be better served enjoying life, reading literature, getting drunk, whatever...
Yeah... I suppose, but still, why do that when I can get a jump on things?

...life is too short to start studying anesthesia in college.
Yeah, I'd like medical books. I'd like to get a jump on things even if it's just skimming. I ordered the Handbook of Pharmacology and Physiology in Anesthetic Practice; hopefully that's a decent one.
I think the best advice would be to get a jump on the MCAT. Buy a Kaplan review book and start going to town. For better or worse your score on that one test will likely dictate whether or not you go to med school and where.
