Im only an M1 right now, but the older students at my school are having a book sale later this week to get rid of their junk (some cheap as 10-15dollars). I dont plan on looking at them now, but i know i'll need it later, so i rather get it while its cheap.

what are some of the best books you guys have used?

im specifically interested certain step 1 prep books, review books, and other course complements. I'd especially appreciate input from any M3's that could recommend good step 1 prep books or course review books?

Thanks for any input.

First Aid
BRS Physiology
RR Goljan
Lippincotts Biochemistry
Robbins Basic Pathology

BRS Physiology (get this book!)
BRS Gross Anatomy or Essential Clinical Anatomy
BRS Behavioral Sciences
High Yield (HY) Neuroanatomy
HY Embryology

A lot of people are saying the same thing, but that should just emphasize which ones you really should get 😉

HY Cell & Molecular (not in print any more, IIRC)
Netter
BRS Phys
Basic Immunology
RR Goljan
BRS Behavioral Sciences

My personal list:

Gilroy and Ross Atlas of Anatomy (has explanations that aren't in Netter's and the illustrations are good)
Wheater's Histology Atlas
Lippincott's Biochemistry
Haines Neuroanatomy
BRS Physiology - this is a REVIEW book...not nearly as detailed as what you'll need to know in your class
Robbins Pathology (can't imagine many will sell this before they graduate)

thanks for the input everybody.

ill try and see what i can nab.
