I am looking for some possible suggestions on places that others would find good places to apply to.
I am applying this cycle. I scored a 520 on my MCAT and I have a 3.96 cGPA and a 3.94 sGPA.
I am an Honors student and am working on finishing and possibly publishing my Honor's thesis. I have more than 100 hours of research experience, have 250 hours+ of service, multiple leadership opportunities, and 100+ patient interaction hours. I have had part time jobs throughout my undergrad as well.
Some additional information: I live in Utah and have Utah residency (but am from Idaho originally), I am married and have one child with one on the way, I also can speak Polish as a second language. Also I would like to stay in the North-Western part of the united states but am open to thinking about other medical schools that are not in hot areas (Texas, Florida, Arizona, etc) or in extremely populated areas (Los Angeles, New York City).
I understand that I have very good numbers and assuming good interviews I would be very likely to get into the large majority of medical schools. I just am not sure which ones to apply to. I don't want to apply to too many very competitive medical schools but at the same time don't want to under apply. I can apply to 14 schools and some of the schools I have looked at are
University of Utah (applying for sure)
University of Washington (applying for sure)
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Mayo Medical School
Pritzker Medical School (applying for sure)
Harvard Medical School
Ohio State University
Northwestern University The Feinburg School of Medicine
Medical College of Wisconsin
Penn State
George Washington
Duke
Johns Hopkins
University of Colorado
University of Wisconsin Madison
University of Virginia.
(I am open to other medical schools you think might be a good choice)
Let me know what you think. I am looking for a good variety of competitive schools and schools that would potentially be fairly easy to get into.
