Good Dental ECs

I don't see ECs discussed very much at all on the forums, I used the search tool and came up with nothing recent so if I'm just an idiot and missed the topic please let me know.

Anyways, aside from shadowing do dental schools really care that much about outside ECs? I know ASDOH is one of those schools that do care but as I look at pre-dent apps, it looks like barely anyone has any outside ECs. Is research outside the scope of Dentistry worth anything in the admissions process? What ECs should I be looking into? Or should I focus my time on the DAT / GPA factors of the application?

Research/service does not have to be dental related.

EC's: Anything that shows dedication and passion. Find something you like and stick with it.

i have tons of non dental related ECs! i love to sing and dance so im like a choir and an acapella group as well as a dance team. i also do tons of volunteering at a hospice near my apartment, give tours on campus, mentor city school students...

basically anything you like and you're going to welcome as a needed break from your studies when you need to take time away to fulfill commitments. do as much as you think you can handle and that you'll enjoy doing
