Good Internship for Phd Application

I'm sorry if this was already posted before right now I'm in my second year in a master's in counseling psychology program. I want to apply to doctorate programs but am a little nervous because I came from a smaller school with less opportunities for research.

I was wondering if anyone knew of good sites for internships that application committees looked at more favorably than other?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Look into the post-bac stuff at NIMH. Very competitive though.
