Is there such a thing as good and bad medical schools?
Aren't all medical schools equal? I guess not! But it's still hard to get in any of them.
So when you think about medschools, do you automatically group them in different categories: good, average, bad.
What are are your criterias when applying to medschools, why do you want to apply to a specific school?

All Medical Schools Are Equal
But Some Medical Schools Are More Equal Than Others....

I would say from talking to med students that some schools tend to have a happier student body than others. This is often due to the way the administration and faculty treat the students and approach the medical education. The top schools often are the ones that dedicate the money and the personnel to their students, leading to higher satisfaction. Of course, a top 10 school just might not be where you will be the happiest.

Not all med schools are equal, but none are bad. There are only 125 or so allo med schools, and they graduate only about 16,000 doctors each year. Thus they are all quite competitive, and far more selective than most other graduate level schooling. About half the people who apply to allo med school won't get into any. You can get a great medical education and become a top flight doctor at any of them, and competitive residencies pick the cream of the crop of all the med schools, not just the top ones.. So the word bad doesn't really fit here, as it might in other graduate paths where the range between top and bottom is much greater.
