I'll be doing a rotation at Mount Sinai for a month and I'm just curious if anyone else has done one there and if they have any advice on a good place to live? I realize it will be expensive around there, but some places gotta be better than others I'm guessing haha. Also I know they offer but do not gurantee housing for students, so if anyone has taken that option and could comment about it, please do.

I strongly recommend trying to get in on subletting an apartment from a student here. When is your rotation? There are so many requests/offers for sublets going through the housing list-serv it's pretty f-ing disgusting. You just need some sort of proof that you will be affiliated with Sinai for that duration of time. If that's doesn't work out, I've met students from other schools who found apartments around the low 100's. It's considered East Harlem but still relatively safe especially if you go around Lexington, Park, Madison or 5th avenue. If you do not need to wake up super early in the morning and can travel a bit you can go as far down as the east village as the 6 train ride from downtown to sinai is about 30 minutes. Hope this helps
