Does this sound like a good plan or just plain stupid? I'm interested in medicine, but also politics and law so I was thinking about doing a 6 year JD/MD program. Does this seem like overkill? I could always just stick to the MD program and get into law later. Or the other way around. Thoughts?

Not to be totally insensitive but whenever I see an hSDN post I just wanna be like dude go get laid and get off SDN.

It could be reasonable if that is your interest. These programs exist for a reason after all!

It's not an unreasonable plan. I just wouldn't be too attached to it. There are lots of ways to get into politics besides a law degree. And who knows, you may find something totally different that ignites your passion.

I did an MPH that focused on health policy research, and although I don't want to go into politics, it definitely gave me a great foundation and connections for if I had wanted to be a politician.

Go for it if that is what you want to do. I suggest finding someone with that background and talking to them to find out how they are using both degrees in real life.
