Hello,

If anyone would recommend a review-type book with good images of head CTs, MRI, angiograms, and stuff that I expect might be higher-yield on Step 1 (Circle of Willis, mesenteric circulation, etc.) it would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Being able to read imaging studies is not a Step I skill and would be VERY low yield. Don't waste your time on worrying about this. Instead read up on your anatomy because THAT is where you will get more points (plus you might be able to answer questions based on description alone rather than a poorly reconstructed image that is 1/3 the size you would be able to view it in real life....).

Read an anatomy review book and supplement that with using a good atlas or Netter...trust me on this one...there's more questions with labels on drawings than there are radiology images (I don't think I had any radiology pics on step 1 and only a handful on step 2).

Thanks for your input Smurfette. I guess part of the challenge in studying for this exam is that everyone has somewhat varied advice - I suppose that is to be expected given the apparently vast question pool.

This from the FA anatomy intro:

"Many students suggest browsing through a general radiology atlas, pathology atlas, histology atlas. Focus on learning basic anatomy at key levels in the body (e.g. saggital brain MRI; axial CT pathways, blood supply, and functional anatomy)..."

Anyone else with a suggestion or suggested source?
