Good Tips for RC?

Do you guys have any good tips on how I can raise my reading comprehension score? I tried taking notes while reading, but I'm not sure if this is the most efficient method... 🙁

I got this from another member on this site. Basically what you do is read the first paragraph and then read the first couple of sentences from every paragraph from there on and write down a few important words to describe what the paragraph is about. Now use the search and destroy method and go through each question and you should have a better idea about where to look for the answer. Try it a few times to see if it suits you. Good luck.

Also, for those who have taken the DAT already, which book would you recommend for practicing the reading comprehension part of the test?

I'm working with Barron's right now, and all of their passages are about teeth... is it like this on the real DAT? Has it always been a dense scientific reading? Finally, are the questions given in the order they appear in the passage?
