I feel like everyone just makes it sound so easy to whip out these 20s! I've been studying so hard, and just don't average more than 18 on these kaplan and topscore exams. My doom's day's on Friday....I'm scared : (

As for the math, I was soooo good at math in highschool, but I don't remember permutations of that trig. circle thing anymore! I wish we got to keep those highschool text books

Dont be discouraged so easily. Kaplan and Topscore exams have sections that are harder than the actual exam.. so dont just look at the scores and assume you cant achieve.. but rather use the exams to figure out what you still need to work harder on for the real thing. For the math, try to work for speed rather than content... ofcourse you still need to understand how to do the problem.. but just concentrate on doing it FAST and if you come across a really hard math problem, skip it.. because chances are.. all the question at the end that you would've gotten RIGHT but ran out of time on are worth more than that ONE question you probably would've gotten wrong anyway if it took you more than avg time to figure out. I never scored over a 20 in any section with Kaplan except PAT and I got 20+ across the board on the real thing.. so just know your stuff and dont worry as much about practice scores. Don't worry, that's what I was making on Kaplan tests, and I made in the 20's on most sections on the real thing. Just relax, and try to do your best. It's all you can do. I'm sure you'll do great! 🙂

Also keep in mind that the few people that come to this site by no means represent the entire applicant pool.

From what I've noticed the majority of the people that come to this site put forth way more effort than your typical applicant.

you're going to be fine!! good luck! just stick with it and remember that you know the stuff! before i took the test, i was averaging 17's on most of the practice tests and wound up pulling a 21 on the real thing...

just when you go in there...clear your head and remember you know this...and do your best!

Your scores on those Kaplan/TS exams don't represent your actual performance on the real thing. Use them as homework. I remember scoring 17-19 on the sciences, 12-17 on the math, 21-22 on reading, and 20-23 on PAT but ended up getting at least 3 points higher on the real thing. Kaplan is going for the scare tactic. I was really discouraged coming into the test. Just keep studying and you will be surprised how well you do.

I'll just echo what's been said before. I worked at Kaplan and my observation was that students scored between 2 to 6 points better on each section on the real DAT than they did on their practice tests.

Thanks everyone! I feel a bit more confident after readin your replies...now rather than bein nervous I'm just eager to get this over with and enjoy my labor day weekend...however things turn out..I'm so tired of studying..didn't really have a summer..i kinda like the fact that at this point...there's no more i can learn, so im just gonna chill..
