So I had a job as a clinical assistant, basically as a phlebotomist that does some processing too, but because of personality differences, and one of my coworkers having it out for me, I got fired. I was using the job for some clinical experience before applying this summer and have only been at it for two months. I already put in to work as a phlebotomist at another local hospital, and am thinking of applying to some hospitals in Boston for clincal work too. I am only 22, graduated with a degree in chemistry, was an RA,TA, did research, got published, student government, captained rugby team, chaired a volunteer organization, shadowed DOs and MDs, great LoRs, all that jazz but was really only lacking the clincal. My grades are really boarderline, 3.05 GPA, 2.80 science with a 25 MCAT, but I am taking two classes this summer, and am getting an A in the first one so far. If I Ace them then my GPAs will jump to 3.1 and 2.96. They will be completed by early August and thats when I plan to submit my AACOMAS app. I also did a fellowship in holistic medicine in Russia and Scotland and am publishing my research this summer as well. So my question is, now that I got terminated at my job getting me clinical, first would the termination hurt me in the eyes of adcoms, would they even need to know, and second, would being at a job for such a sort time, then switching jobs be seen as really bad? DO schools tend to really focus on clincal work and now that I am not working in a clinical setting anymore, I wonder if I am screwed. What would you guys do? What should I do? Oh, I also live 2 hours from Boston and would have to relocate if I get the jobs down there, and I am not sure if I am ready to do that yet.

there is no reason they need to know...you have a right to change jobs. it could be for a million reasons. make one up if they ever even question it. they could probably care less
