Hey all wanted to share my story with you all. On here it seems to be very discouraging to apply to MD programs with a low MCAT but I am here to tell those of you who are not rock stars at taking standardized test that it is possible.

I received a 500 on my MCAT with my CARS score being in the 14th percentile. Yes it was extremely low but the rest of my application was solid. Lot's of people on here discouraged me from applying and told me I had no chance at any MD schools and if I was lucky I would maybe get an interview at a DO school. Well I'm here to tell those people that I got multiple MD interviews/acceptances. :claps::soexcited::banana:

If your in this position and would like advice/guidance I am more than happy to help you out.

500 MCAT and multiple MD acceptances....Skeptical hippo is skeptical

Where do I start. First off this is exactly why I created a new account to post this because most people on here are negatively oriented. I did not post this to receive negativity. I actually posted this for those out there that genuinely/sincerely need guidance and positivity.

Yes I got multiple MD acceptances/interviews with a 121 CARS and 500 MCAT. Instead of you all being so negative, why don't you instead be happy for me and encourage others in a similar situation.

Again, I did not post this for all you negative a** people above. Instead this is for those who want to learn about my experience.

I’d bet my future career that this is either fake or being misrepresented.

Sincerely,

A student who actually has multiple MD acceptances

You right, prosper king

Sorry, but two things strike me:

a) You made a new account to post this, why? You literally did not answer it at all, "... because people here are negatively oriented." What the hell does this have to do with having to make a new account.
i. Besides, you would be taken slightly more seriously if you had post history.
b) Your profile name
c) If you think SDN is negatively oriented, you probably have not been here long enough to understand what this place is about. Let me explain.

SDN is an anonymous forum, and the pre-med forums are generally meant to give feedback to other premeds about their application, their premed journey, et cetera. Since it is an anonymous forum, a lot of people feel more free to post something even if it is not the nicest thing. While this comes off as negative, it usually is realistic. When Goro tells you that you have no business applying MD, he is probably trying to help you, not venting his anger.

Maybe you are not a troll. If so, spend some more time here and read around, and you will start to understand this place.

Finally, no one actually gives a crap if you got in with those stats, because no one here knows you or will ever probably know you. It is a sad thing that you would come here to look for people that are genuinely happy for your unlikely success .The most stimulation this would give anyone here would be that of shock, intrigue, and suprise, if true. At this point the reactions have been confusion, skepticism and agitation. Thus, we will not express happiness for you or encourage you when you don't even supply details about the rest of your application that made you incredible, supposedly.

Otherwise, :troll:

If you wanted people to learn from your experience, wouldn't it be helpful to post from your old account so they can see what you've gone through?

If you don't want so much negativity, maybe post something about where you actually got in. The way you put it now is so vague that it opens you up to being accused of being a troll. You don't have to list all the schools, just a couple so people can judge for themselves. We don't know what you mean by "good" med school.

This may be your attempt at being helpful, but have you thought that maybe this is doing more harm than good by giving people false hope? I'm not an adcom, but based on all the data the AAMC puts out you're an outlier, even if you had a near 4.0 GPA, and you got in due to something extremely situation specific.

Why haven’t I heard about the cure for all types of cancer you apparently discovered?

If this is actually true, I feel you are highly misrepresenting it or are deliberately leaving out swathes of information (URM, severe SES, hell of a story, etc).

People on this site are “negative” because of people that are untruthful or that lie by omission. Be real with yourself.

The stench of one of these is overpowering:

You might find in your life and career that most people don't give a fck about internet strangers and their alleged successes, much less be happy for them.

Instead this is for those who want to learn about my experience.
Besides, I don't see what you really have to offer beyond "be lucky"

One of my good friends is applying with around a 500 MCAT and is asking me for advice. I would love to hear about your experience so that I can better support him. Feel free to PM me! Congratulations and good luck in Medical school! 🙂

Personally, I could care less if you guys believe me or not. Again I am here for those that might be in a similar circumstance. In fact, MCAT has very low correlation with your actual success in Med school look at page 19 on the first site that pops up when you google "MCAT scores and medical school success" (could not post the link but its research gathered by aacom).

All I have to say is some of you are very bitter people. You must really either hate your lives or hate yourselves. If you truly want to know my story and want some advice, let me know. Besides that I am not feeding any of you trolls!
