So I have received a merit scholarship from a a midwest school. I have been sent a form to sign and mail back to declare that I accept the scholarship - however, does this limit me to this school only and will other schools know of this? Or do I still have time (until May 15) to decide on what school I really want to go to. This school is likely my top choice at this point, but I'm just wondering since I am still undecided and would not want to lose a merit school because of not responding.

THanks

You will not be bound to the school if you accept the scholarship. Scholarships/financial aid packages follow the same May 15th rule as acceptances. If I were you, I would accept the scholarship and take time to see how everything else pans out. At the same time, once you know for sure that you are not attending this school you should withdraw promptly to give others the opportunity.

Best of luck!

Is the merit scholarship for full COA?

Great, thanks for the response. I would also like to add that you, sir, are not human as judged by your rediculous mdapps.

Oh ok, thanks. Does this make a difference if it is COA?

I think there's a difference between a scholarship that just covers your full tuition and a scholarship that covers tuition + room & board, etc. as well.

I have nothing more to add except congrats on the scholarship!😎

Are there even schools that give COA scholarships (besides MSTP)? That seems like an undergrad thing.

I have no idea. But you have to admit that it would be mega-epic if they did. Others have said you will not be bound by the scholarship, however I think that 100k would make up my mind very quickly.
