Got my braces off!

Don't know if this is relevant at all... But... Maybe this could be a motivator for all you Pre-Dents 🙂

I got my braces off today after 4 years! They aren't completely fixed however... The orthodontist said that i'm a surgical case and a surgeon would have to break my lower and upper jaw and things could get pretty nasty...

Anyhow, after I got my braces off I was so happy! I feel so much more confident now in all different aspects of my life and I really feel like this has changed my life (if I could show you the way my teeth looked before, you would know how horrible it is)

I have a newfound appreciation for dentistry and orthodontists and even though I had them for 4 years, the final result was breathtaking and i'm SO happy that I had this treatment done.

Now i'm considering dentistry... I never realized how much someone's teeth can really be a factor in their life... I now appreciate the profession more than ever and I hope that you aspiring dentists will keep on reaching for your dreams!

I am about to get them off (hopefully) and I agree with you completely. I can't wait till I get them off, and besides the fact that I feel completely different about myself, I find orthodontics itself pretty awesome. I am obsessed with looking at my teeth, and seeing how elastics work (elastic animations on Youtube are amazing). I find it really cool, and although I am pre-med right now, I may change to pre-dental (possibly).

How would patients know who's a good dentist from a bad dentist before it's too late though?
