Got my first interiview! (with low GPA) woo-hoo! Touro CA

Just thought I'd share some good news!

I was discouraged since I just finished my secondaries last week and felt I was really late with my scores in the admissions process.

I was skeptical since I have low GPA and figured I would be filtered out and they wouldn't see my work experience or my motivation to becoming a physcian.

My overall is a 3.1 and science is 3.0. MCAT 27.

So don't be discouraged with lower scores! ( I know I certainly was!)

My work expereince consists of experience working with the disabled, mentall ill, and children with terminal illnesses.


My low GPA is largely due to 3 C's I received years ago during summer classes of A&P and organic II. I was working a full time job doing voactional rehab with disabled adults and also a part time job. If I retook these and scored an A in each, my Science GPA would go up to a 3.51!

I am in the process of retaking them right now just in case I don't matriculate.

One more thing. I recently submitted my primary, does anyone know how long it takes for them to verify the app. and send it out to the schools? I am feeling stressed that I applied late.....again, and again.

That's great(my stats are nearly identical to yours)! Do you have alot of clinical experience? Have you gotten interviews elsewhere?
