how bad was it (if you don't mind sharing)? plenty of people have done poorly in a class or two and have still gotten into med school. do you know what went wrong? my advice would be to try to figure out what went wrong and fix it for next time. if you were slacking off, don't slack off! if you somehow weren't grasping all the concepts, go in and ask the prof for clarification on things you are uncertain of. if that doens't work, ask a friend in your class. some people are really competitive and might not help, but many people would be glad to help i'm sure. one thing that always worked for me was to focus on everything i didn't know the night before the test and try to find the answer to all of my questions in books, from friends, etc... it really is just one class. i know that's easy for me to say, but it does not mean you can't do better in other bio classes. believe me... i failed my first bio test in college (which happened to be my first test in college). that's right, a bit fat F. it is the only exam i've ever failed in my life. since then i've gotten A-'s and A's in my bio classes. there is still hope!
