I got an interview letter a couple weeks ago and was estatic, but then two days later I got a message on my cellphone saying the letter was sent to me in error and to disregard it. Did this happen to anyone else or am I the only one. Does this mean I'm still waiting for a response from them?? It was a big disappointment...

That's awful. At least you weren't accepted in error.

when they're trying to process thousands of apps I'm sure errors happen...just keep the faith 🙂

I do not understand how a school can make that sort of mistake. Sorry to hear that. Keep your fingers crossed for good news. Good luck 🙂

Sorry to hear that. It must be really hard for you to receive that from them. I hope that schools don't make many mistakes like this.

that's dumb. if they made that mistake then they should have at least given that interview for you....hey maybe you could have changed their minds about you at the interview. i'm sorry that happened to you. best of luck.

wth... it's wrong to take the interview away from you even if u got it b/c of their mistake. oh man. nj.... sorry to hear. so sorry.

Definitely -- they should have at least interviewed you. I mean, what if you had already purchased your plane ticket? You didn't, did you?

No I didn't purchase a plane ticket since its only a 5 hour drive, but it was my first letter from any dental school so I told a lot of my family about it.

It seems like you guys think the school should just interview this applicant, because they made a mistake. But that's really dumb. If the school is certain that they are not going to accept this candidate, and decide to bring this person out for an interview anyways for "fairness" sake because they made a mistake, then it's REALLY unfair to the applicant since he/she would be wasting money, time, not to mention getting false hope up by coming to this interview.
Yeah the school screwed up, but there really isn't a "fair" solution to the situation.

Sure there is! They should suck it up and accept him, maybe even thow a scholarship into the deal [/sarcasm]

Anway OP, that sucks hard. I can't even imagine what that would be like 🙁

Sorry to hear about that thiennga. I had a similar situation happen with UMDNJ. On the AADSAS website they had indicated that I had been "invited for interview", and of course I was excited and checking the mail way too often in anticipation of the actual letter. After a week with no response I called the school to make sure the letter hadn't been lost in the mail, but was told that not only did I not have an interview but that I was no longer being considered. Talk about going down hill fast. I know your feeling, it's not a good one.

Seems like everyone else is more upset than I am over it, I am glad that it happened two days after the letter than two days before the interview. I would hate to have the interview and just get rejected because they didn't want to accept me in the first place.

Call them up and find out what happened. Ask when you can expect to get the actual letter 🙂

are you sure it was really them who called?
