What do you think my chances are of getting into a US MD school? I got a low MCAT with 26 (9,9,8). I'm considered "disadvantaged" by the application, I have a 3.85 GPA, and I have a lot of EC including research, volunteer, leadership, shadowing, and others. I submitted my application to a few schools (10) and now I'm trying to decide if I should hurry and retake the MCAT for this application process or if I should just see what happens and retake and apply next year if I don't get in. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi! I think you may have a chance with your MCAT score at some MD schools since all your sections are above 8. I think retaking the MCAT now might make it too late for this cycle. Have you thought about applying DO as well? I'm in a similar position (slightly lower GPA and slightly higher MCAT) and I'm thinking about it. Best of luck! 🙂

What's your state of residence? Your best chance for US MD will most likely be your local state school. Your MCAT/GPA will only get you into consideration at a short-list of OOS schools. I think historically the chances say around 30-40% but you can check the AAMC thread. If the MCAT material is not fresh on your mind, you probably don't have time for to study completely all over again and retake before it's too late for this cycle.

Consider DO (you are easily in-range to be accepted to top tier DO's), and definitely plan a retake for the MCAT but give yourself sufficient time so that you can be sure your score will improve (don't try to rush just to get it done in time for this cycle if it's not looking like you'll be ready, MCAT scores don't go away once you take them).
