Just a thought I had.

Let's say two applicants have a 3.0, but one got there with a mix of Cs and As (say, with an overall trend of improving over the years), and the other pulled straight Bs the whole time in undergrad. Who wins?
 
so, the question really is, do you want a jack of all trades, master of none, or someone who excels in certain areas and struggles in others, but shows evidence of working hard?

I'd go for the latter. My personal opinion is that you need to show that you are good at SOMEthing.
