Are there any suggestions?

I have recently change my major to Biology in hopes of going premed but honestly I haven't been getting the grades for it. I'm in my sophmore year(of undergrad) and I have a *gulp* 2.6.

I wasn't serious about grades because I didn't know what I wanted to do but now I do and I need help...pointers anyone?
Or am I just dreaming?

Should I retake the classes I didn't do well in? Or do they not matter because I just started science classes anyway?

i hope you knew that you didnt have to change majors to go into med school. its one common misconception most students who are interested in medicine have.
some may even argue that is disadvantageous to have a bio major seeing how it doesn't distinguish you in any special way.

if i were you i would have stuck with the major you were in before and just take the basic prereqs that med schools require for admission. now i assume the classes you have taken are some of these prereqs so if you got Ds and Cs, then i would stronly consider retaking these classes to get better grades to at least prove to the adcoms that you can succeed in basic science courses.

now as for gpa... you gpa will be higher if your school has grade replacement policy if you got an F (not sure about Ds) but amcas gpa will reflect a different gpa because it does take into account every class you have taken.

i dont know exactly what grades you got but if you have time over the summer to make up lower grades then it might be something you want to consider...

Thanks for that info about major changing, I didn't know that.

I suggest you don't change your major. Just take premed classes.
