I am currently a senior and i will graduate after fall quarter so probably by early december.

Just wondering that if i submit application for dental schools this summer,

should i send the transcript after my summer session classes and fall quarter class?

or GPA isnt THAT important once you submit your application?

You definitely do not want to wait until December to turn in your transcript. You can process an academic update in December after your December class(es) are done.

If your GPA is already pretty good and the summer classes won't make a huge positive impact then don't wait to include them, just put them under "future coursework" and wait until academic update to update the grades for them.

This way schools can still see your GPA up to that point and invite you for interviews. If you don't turn in any transcript until December no school will look at your application until the transcript is in.

so waiting untill the beginning of august wouldnt make a big difference of how behind others in the cycle you will be????

If you submit your application in August, you'll have to wait about 4 weeks until your application is verified, so your application probably won't go out to schools until September. Everyone has a different idea of what "late" is, some people will say "if you don't submit on June 1 you're late" and others will say "oh just submit whenever".

The sooner you get your application in, the earlier it's reviewed and that means you can (potentially) get interview invitations.

👍

There are no negative consequences for turning in an application too early.

thats true, but where do u draw the line on whether to take summer classes to give ur gpa an extra boost vs applying early as possible because ur stats are near the lower side

I think the few summer classes you take won't make a huge difference among the courses you already have on your transcript. If you really think that these summer courses will give your GPA a good boost, apply early, and update your transcript on AADSAS as soon as you get your final summer grades.

I agree with the fact that a couple summer courses probably aren't really going to affect your GPA. Unless you think you'll ace them, it might not be necessary to wait for those grades. You could calculate your GPA with your "expected" grade(s) and see what GPA you might have if you wait for them and decide then.

how much of a potential gpa increase would it be worth to wait ? would there be a huge difference in applying early with a 3.15 bcpGPA and waiting until a 3.25 then applying first week of august?
