I'm a RN with my Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. My undergrad GPAis 3.34.If I score well on the DAT, do you think I have a chance of getting into dental school or is my GPA too low?

GPA is only one of many factors that go into being a competitive dental applicant. While 3.34 is a little lower than the average enrollee (I've read about 3.5 is now average), there's lots of ways you can become a strong applicant. Most importantly study hard and do well on the DAT, but get a good amount of shadowing/internship hours, get good LOR's, write a solid personal statement, and get involved in other activities/clubs/research projects that interest you.

Having a slightly lower GPA by no means eliminates you from getting into d-school. Everything else that can improve your application is up to you now, so good luck.

Great advice here!!! The only thing I would add is take some upper level biology courses like molecular, genetics, pathology, and microbiology to name a few. I'm not sure what you take for a nursing degree but those would help out. Good Luck!!!

The math and science courses I took for nursing are A &P 1 and 2, Microbilogy, General Chem 1 & 2, Biology 1 & 2, College Algebra, Trigonometry. I know that even to apply I need Physics 1 and 2 and Organic chem 1 and 2. I will look into the other classes you mentioned. thanks a bunch!

Add biochem to that list. Basically take as many upper levels that are coincide with years 1 and 2 of dental school. Good Luck!! I have a good friend that is getting ready to graduate from dental school and was a nurse before. You can definitely do this!!
