Hi,

My GPA is about 3.10 (ECE). I know it is not high due to our strict scoring system. In application for dental school requiring PS, is that proper or necessary to have some words explaining my GPA situation?

Suggestions are more than appreciated!!!

thanks

a 3.10 is not bad. If you make it up on the DAT, do a masters perhaps, you should be good to go.

Hi Delta.

I think the OP was referring to International Dentist's admission. We do not apply with DAT scores, but rather the NBDE I and II.

As for OP, yes, a 3.1 is not bad (but still not competitive). What you really need to do is do fairly well on your boards (specially part I > 87) and more importantly, some work experience in the US (a year or two of assisting/teaching/volunteering).
You still have a chance provided you make the right moves. It's all you from here on ...

Good Luck

Thanks again.
I have got a GPA 3.95 in molecular biology in one university in USA. Does that improve my compatibility? I am just worried that the GPA 3.95 is only for basic science and seems irrelevant to dentistry.

Will someone help me with the concern?

thanks
