Do MSTP admissions committees look at both the overall and BCPM gpa, or put more emphasis on the BCPM gpa?

I looked at the AMCAs instruction book and noticed that they engineering GPA does not go under BCPM. But could Biomechanics class, Fluid and solid mechanics classes be considered physics so that it goes under BCPM? If not, my BCPM GPA would only be around 3.4, though with bioengineering classes included, I would have around 3.7 BCPM. Would that hurt my chances for getting into MSTP programs?

My major is mechanical engineering, so I have asked all these same questions to my premed counselor. She said that you can just use your judgement. Some of them could potentially be considered physics, BUT they probably will raise some flags when AMCAS processes your application and will slow everything down. I personally decided to just leave my engineering classes as engineering. Hope this helps
