Hey guys --

I'm just wondering what type of correlation I can expect with my GPA? (Cum. GPA = 3.989) . I ask this because I continue to get ~19/20 on my practice DATs and then I see numerous posts by people with low 3 GPAs (3.2, 3.1, etc) who score in the 23/24's on the DAT. My dat in 1 week from today has my brain all over the place -_-

Thanks again guys!!

Maybe your GPA has a lot of fluff? Maybe you haven't studied enough for the DAT? Maybe you don't have enough pixels on your monitor to discern the correct answers from the wrong? It could be anything. Honestly, GPA's do not mean as much as standardized tests because there is so much variability.

Those people with "low" GPA's probably studied really hard and got what they deserved on the test.

Most likely, you have not studied enough for the test to get into high 20's for which you seem to be shooting.

Honestly, it looks like your GPA indicates that you are an intelligent student and a hard worker. Go study some more for the DAT and you'll be fine! Go hit the books! A week is a long time if you spend it right!

Good luck!🙂

Totally agree. 👍

DAT is DAT and GPA is GPA :x that's why Dschool looks at both!

But regardless, even a 19 on DAT is still very competitive given your DAT! 😱 I would say to spend the next week wisely, like the above post say, a week is a lot of time if you spend it correctly and you should be able to get that 20+!

You are going to be fine as long as you score at least a 17. You should know that the DAT is mainly used to cut out the applicants with low GPA.

If this was not ture, instead of a acceptance average of ~18/19 on the DAT, the national average would be above 21 (guestimating), however, the GPA would me more around an average of 3.2.

you never know. you might be getting 19-20 on your practice, but 23 on the real test. I've seen people who never even scored a 20 on a practice test but ended up getting a 22AA. sort of depends on what version of the test you get too.
