I'm currently in my undergrad second year and I'll be applying to Optometry schools during the summer.

1) Based on rolling admission, would I be evaluated on my GPA for the first two years only since my marks for third year won't be available until later?

2) I'll be taking some pre-requisite courses during third year. Would that affect my GPA calculation or admission in any way?

Many thanks for your help

Are you only doing three years of undergrad? If you're planning on four, I don't know why you would apply now.

yes, I am hoping to do only three years of undergrad. I'm just not sure how my GPA will be calculated. I hope someone can shed some light on this.

It will be calculated using the grades you have at the time of your application.

I did it in 3 yrs like you, and got accepted. On the aps it asks for overall gpa and of course that is your 2 yrs, then science gpa= and it tells you what classes to incorporate. Really just follow the directions and you'll be fine.

thanks a lot JackCM and Monkey007. I have a better idea now.
