So I just finished my junior year, and was planning to take my PCAT this summer, in about 2 months. As much as I love science, I guess it doesn't love me, especially chemistry or anything chemistry related :arghh: my GPA is crap, and my science GPA is obviously even lower. I've retaken Gen Chem 1 twice, dropped and retook chem 2, and I'm about to take Orgo 1 for the third time. With this being said, how likely are my chances of getting into a decent pharmacy school like Midwestern or LECOM? Also, I've been told to use Dr. Collins to use while studying, does anybody else have any other good suggestions, or tips on how to study.

Instead of just repeating chem courses for the sake of a better grade, have you identified why you're struggling with the material and taken action to correct it? Chem isn't going away, you'll probably want to be comfortable with it before going into Pharmacy school

I used the 2014 Kaplan book for last year's PCAT and would recommend using the newest version for this year. I would wholeheartedly recommend Kaplan because it boosted my composite 6 points up from taking it cold. Additionally, the new test this year seems like they're going in deep with biology and chemistry. I would say review PCAT's test structure and sample items. With regards to that, review hard in chemistry. If this is your third time retaking Organic, you just might not be a good fit for pharmacy school.

My university doesn't count anything below a C as passing, thus retaking the course. I will say teachers make a difference, at least for my school because some cover topics more in depth than the others, but they give us a combined final exam. I know this semester went horrible partly because i overloaded my schedule with 20 credits and it was all science courses. But as far as Kaplan goes, I've been told it was too easy and recommended to use Collins instead
