In a predent class I was told that dental schools look at trends in your gpa. (ie if your gpa has gone up they look favorably as compared to someone whose GPA has gone down over the course of their college years). is this true at all? It seems to me that they just look at your overall GPA as of now....

Admissions will look for overall trends in your grades, improvements are obviously valued and looked well upon, however, an excellent all around record will really catch their eye. But yes, if your grades were sub part freshman year, and absolutely excellent and consistent afterwards, they will definitely note this to be positive.
