GPA transfer question

I transfer to a UC next Fall. My transfer counsellor says my GPA will start over. My question is, as far as med schools are concerned, will they see my "new" GPA or my overall GPA? Doesn't bother me either way, just wondering if any has any experience with this. Thanks.

Med schools will see everything. It will split it up by year (FR, SO, JR, SR, and then there's a 5th year option before grad and post-bacc, I think), but all of it will be entered into your AMCAS and/or AACOMAS applications.
