how long does it take for AADSAS to send out the app after they verify your GPA? and how long does it take for AADSAS to verify your GPA? they said they received my transcript on 9/4. but i still haven't heard anything yet.

It can take up to one month or longer.

They said it may take up to 4-8 weeks to verify your GPA, and thats probably how long it will take for you considering the amount of applications they are receiving at this time. If you had applied earlier, like somewhere in May or June, it only took them like 2 weeks or so to do it.

hey thanks alalha, jigabodo, and dentisting. seems like i'll have to wait for a few more weeks....!! hope i still have patience before i go insane😳..

What if I want to include classes I take in spring? Grades for those classes won't come out until the end of June. So, my GPA won't be verified until early August. Would this hurt me at all?

It might hurt a little. As for me, typical spring quarter ends on 6/15, but it usually take another 2-3 weeks to have the grades show up on official transcript. That means my transcript wont be ready until early July, and if I send it then to AADSAS, its gonna take them another week or so to have it just show up "received". Then you gotta wait for another 4-8 weeks for them to calculate your GPA. Lets say you are extremely lucky and only took them 4 weeks to calculate your GPA. By then it would already be in the middle of August, and trust me, AADSAS WONT SEND OUT YOUR APP. RIGHT AFTER your GPA is verified, its gonna take them another week or so to mail it out, and then another 4-5 days to get to the schools. This means your app. really wont get there until late Aug./early Sep, and who knows how long will those schools take to process them...

I guess I just have to give up on adding classes from spring quarter. 🙁

I did not know that they calculate your gpa, is this just your BCP gpa?? My gpa when I graduated was 3.6, but I was a transfer student only earned 64 credits at that school. My previous college years were kind of horrible - a year and half at a 4 yr college and then a couple of years at a CC-both part time. I am a non-trad student so would they really look at my prev school years or would they focus more on the huge improvement that I made at the last school attended and my post bachelor's gpa with all of my science pre reqs??:scared:

Every single class counts toward your GPA. Even the classes you took at different college & CC. Even those you got bad grades and repeated.(this count as two separate classes)
If you have made a huge improvement, adcom people will like it.
However, your GPA including all the previous courses ends up below 2.8, you may need to consider postbac program to bring it up.

So how do they consider (+) and (-) or do the just do it straight like A=12 pts.? Also, if you withdrawl or you receive an F - does this mean they both just count as zero?

A+=4.3, A=4, A-=3.7, B+=3.3, B=3.0, and so on.
W does not count except having a few of them would make your resume look weak. But F counts as 0.
Example) If you withdrew a class(5units), repeated it and got an A. The whole thing counts as one class with 4.0 plus one W on the transcript.

If you failed a class(5units), repeated it and got an A. The result is
(5x0+5x4)/10=2.0

This is why people withdraw.

So lets say you get a F then retake a class and get a B ..that equals 1 pt for that class. So when you do the calculations you only count that class in classes taken ONCE and then you add the 1.0 to the GRADE POINTS calculation...is this correct? Because I failed a few courses ..retook them and got better grades. I am unsure if they count the class as being taken only once or if I have to count each course to calculate my aadsas gpa.

OK. Let me clear this up with another example.

A person has taken 5 (7 including retakes) classes and is applying to dental school.
His classes and grades are,
calculus (5unit) F (retake:B)
biology (5unit) A
chemistry (4unit) A
physics (4unit) F (retake:C)
statistics (5unit) B

His calculated GPA is,
(5x0<cal>+5x3<cal:retake>+5x4<bio>+4x4<chem>+4x0<phy>+4x2<phy:retake>+5x3<stat>)/(5+5+5+4+4+4+5)= 74/32= 2.31

So, now you see the class retaken counts as two separate classes.
