I'm a sophomore. Is a 2.4 GPA high enough for Clemson University?

As mentioned, Clemson does not have a veterinary school. Is this for undergrad admissions, or...?

Undergraduate, I graduate high school in 2019
You would be better off checking hSDN here. Other than that, there's not much we could tell you since the majority of us (except @Balesofhay and a couple others maybe) don't know much about Clemson for undergrad.

(But it is worth adding that you're going to want to do much better in college or vet-school pre-reqs. A 2.4 ... I dunno, you can probably find people who managed to get in with a similar college GPA, but you are making it very, very, very difficult - almost impossible - if that's your GPA in college. You *really* want to shoot for at least a 3.2, and higher would be nice.)

In addition to what was said above, most vet schools have an absolute overall minimum requirement GPA of 2.0 or 2.5 so it's important you put a lot of effort into your college courses, or you may not even be eligible to apply to any vet schools when that time comes, let alone be competitive.

Agreed with everything LIS said, but I just wanted to add that just because you only managed a 2.4 in high school doesn't necessarily mean that you're doomed to underpeforming in college. I'm living proof of that---I just barely graduated high school, worked my butt off in undergrad to keep a decent GPA, and am now sitting in vet school. That said, because I did so poorly in high school I didn't recieve any of the big merit/academic scholarships that some others in my class did (some even got full rides) and so I am in considerably more debt from undergrad as a result, but it's definitely possible for you to make it even if high school was rough for you. But you WILL have to work hard and do better in your pre-reqs once you make it in if vet school is the goal.

I'm not too sure about high school GPA for Clemson. We're growing a lot at the moment and the applicant pool has increased at least 2x since I applied. Are you IS or OOS? That also affects things and I was OOS which was a little more competitive from what I remember. I think your GPA would only affect scholarships like Palmetto Fellows is you're IS. Major requirements are also different too I think. It doesn't specify on their website but you could always email them to ask!

Sorry if I didn't answer your question.

(Also it really sucks that we don't have a vet school. A little salty about that but SC doesn't have one in general so oh well)

Didn't you post a while ago stating your interest in becoming a vet tech? Is that not the plan anymore?

This person is a sophomore in high school. They don't know what they want! I mean, still kudos for thinking about the future.

I was wondering, since they were saying they wanted to go to vet school in that other thread when they meant vet tech school.
