What are the minimum GPAs and GREs that you need for these types of programs? What other requirements are there? Research? Published Research?

Do PsyD programs even look at grades and GRE's? I thought they mainly just look at your statement of intent and your bank account. I know that sounds cynical but my impression is that your grades aren't really a decidiing factor. If you visit the website for a PhD program you'll find all the stats on each class. I haven't found that kind of info on PsyD sites.

not to hijack, but information for psychology clinical programs, and graduate schools are hard to find, unlike the MD, and DO school information.

Perhaps I am way off-target but I am in the middle of the application process and I have found it very easy! They have all of their stats on their website. There may not be as many rankings or people talking about individual programs, just because the programs are pretty small, but there is a lot of information depending on what you are looking for. All you have to do is look.

Ohh, I haven't seen any with average stats on applicants. I just seen one with required GRE scores, and that is it. What school had these numbers?

You can consult the American Psychologist December 2005 for aggregate data on PhD and PsyD programs and likely the Peterson's Guide for specific schools. The Peterson (no relation) article from 2003 also has group data as well as ranking of importance, which is still letters of rec at this point, followed by GRE and then grades.

Just to give you a quick and dirty response, for clinical Ph.D. programs, you want to shoot for a 1300 combined score on the GRE, with at least a 600 on each section, and at least a 3.5 GPA. Research experience is incredibly important. Published research seems to be getting more and more common, especially for top programs, but is certainly not a requirement.

Every school is different though, and strengths in some areas can make up for weaknesses in others. Definitely look at the stats on program websites.

I actually think that releasing the average GPA/GRE scores for incoming classes (some websites refer to it as "full disclosure data") is an APA requirement. Does anyone know?

Yes, many PsyD programs associated with universities are quite competitive and can offer generous scholarships to deserving students. Our program balances several different considerations for admission: GRE, GPA, recs, and assessment of "psychological mindedness" and interpersonal/affective skills (based on interviews, personal statement, and recs). Please do not lump university based PsyDs with the freestanding PsyD programs. We are very different.
