I am interested in seeing what average GPA's are for current dental students. I got a 2.73 my first semester and that places me in the bottom 5 of my class. I feel like an idiot, but my class is only 45 people. What are GPA's like at your schools?

I had a 3.73 our first semester. I have no idea how that ranks over the class. That only included 15 hours of classes though, 4 classes were pass fail and 5 classes carried over, so i won't get a grade for those till the end of this semester.

I think we'll have grades in 45 credit hours overall, and pass/fail in the rest. Oh, my average is definitely going to drop this semester. Hopefully it'll end up a 3.4 or 3.5 though.

I haven't cared about GPA for a loooooooong time, but I'd say our class average is probably a 3.3 or so (25 out of 51).

A 3.55 after my third year, that puts me around 15th in my class out of 120. Just a rough idea.....I have no idea how tight things are though.....like if a a 3.59 will put one at 4 or 5 in the class....

It takes about a 3.9 at UNC to be in the top 10% of 80 people. Pretty scary...at least 4 guys have 4.0s still and they all frequent these boards you bums! I would say we have a highly intelligent and grade-conscious class, but to be honest everyone gets along in most cases.

same at UF. I know most of the top ppl have 3.9 or so. I think the average is prob a 3.3-3.4. Most ppl who want to specialize (openly) have btw a 3.7 - 3.8 i would think.

At NYU, the #1 person in the class roughly has a 3.7. A 3.5 will definitely put you in the top 10% and between a 3.38-3.5 wil put you in the first quantile
