Okay, so I've been evaluating my list of possible schools largely based on their med school stats and facilities but I realize I've been neglecting the grad school aspects somewhat. So, I have 2 questions for current students/previous applicants.

1. What are the characteristics of the PhD programs specifically that you weighed most heavily?

2. Are there any schools that you know of that are well known for good infectious disease programs?

Thanks. Everyone in this forum has been really helpful lately.

I mainly looked at the faculty. Departments where there were more people doing the stuff I was interested in got more positive points on my scoreboard.

Emory and UCSF jump out to mind. There could be more but I'm not really an ID kind of person.

I know that people applied to UTMB in Galveston specifically for ID.
