Hello.

I am having some confusion regarding how to convert the Canadian grades to AMCAS GPA. I took courses from multiple universities, specifically, U of Saskatchewan, U of Regina, UBC and York U. Also, what does semester hours mean?

I am also planning on taking the science pre-reqs online through Athabasca, do the US DO schools accept those online courses? Or is it a good idea to take the science pre-reqs through a community college?

Thanks in advance.

Semester hours = credit hours. if your courses are taken in a semester time length than "credit amount" per class = semester hours.

If you are on a different system (quarter for example) then you need to use the conversion chart found on the AACOMAS applicant manual.

Hi AlteredScale,

Thanks for the prompt reply.

So if a course is worth 3 credits, then it's 3 semester hours?

Sorry if it sounds silly, but what is a semester system?🙁
