Grade forgiveness.......

my school has a policy where any grades under a C can be replaced and not factor into the gpa, and we can do this for 16 units (approximately 4 classes under the University of California system), so i was wondering if medical schools take into consideration with regards to the grade forgiveness policy or do they just look at both grades and average them out?

At D.O. schools they will see both grades, but only take the most recent grade for computing your GPA.
