Hello Everyone,

I have been trying to find the Grade replacement policy for AACOMAS, but I can't find it anywhere, like I am trying to find the details of it. Is it not written? I have googled it but no luck? Can you direct me to it please.

Also what is the email you are using to contact the AACOMAS people?

Lastly, a more specific question. I took Org Chem 2 (4 semester units) at a CC and got a C. I want to replace it at a 4 year quarter school where Org Chem 2 (4 quarter units) would this replace it? or do I have to convert the quarter units to semester? I am so confused.

Thank you so much for your help!

It will not replace. 4 quarter units --> 2.7 semester units.

2.7 < 4

Now I am confused by this. I took a microbiology class at a quarter system school (5 units) and retook it at a semester school (5 units). Does this not replace or is it only if you try and replace a semester with a quarter?

*Freaked out for a second, but then did the math and answered my own question.

Thank you! Where can I find the document for the grade replacement policy?

According to other threads it looks like the grade replacement policy has changed. The repeated course no longer needs to the same or higher credit hours.

I retook a quarter class (2.7 credits) for a semester class (4 credits). I really hope that's OK. I did this freshman year summer. The course names were identical, the course I retook had a little more emphasis on more topics.

Just saw this thread:

If the repeated class is greater in credits, it should be fine. Refer to the email received by poster: Isisfusion.

Yes, the thing is I am trying to go from Semester ----> Quarter so that's why I am in trouble.
Because I am trying to replace a semester class (4 units) with a quarter class (4 units) so when you convert , it doesn't end up being greater.

If you go the other way it's easier

Where do I find this policy though? I have yet to see it, I've tried to google it but nada, nothing on the AACOMAS website.

You won't find it online but posters have written in other threads that they called representatives over the phone for clarification of the grade replacement policy. It seems that you can replace a course with another regardless if the new course has more or less credits than the original. With this, they seem to have also add the "Honor System" where if you proclaim a course to be a repeat of another, then they will honor your repeat. And it seems you also cannot separate a lecture and lab as two separate courses if you took a combined section (though I don't know if that was always the case)

Of course, I hesitate to say all this with 100% certainty but I suppose in due time, we will see how accurate this is.

Thanks for clarifying! I really hope they keep this policy.

This would replace bc your retake is more than original. Retake needs to be the same or more credits than original.
