Grade replacement questions

Hey all,

I just recently took a class with a similar course description as another course I previously took at another school. The main difference is that this new course included a lab and is 4 credit hours versus the previous course which did not include a lab and was 3 credit hours.

Does anyone know if this new course (+lab) will be able to replace the previous class?

Similarly, would a 4 credit hour class with no lab be able to replace a similar 4 credit hour course with a lab?

The answer to the first question is yes. I'm not sure about the answer to the second.
