Hey,
I recently discovered I did not receive honors in ophthalmology but actually just "pass". There is only honors or pass for electives at my institution. I received "honors" for medicine and neurology but "passed" in every other required clerkship. How big of a problem is this for applying to ophtho. I have a great board score (>250) and good LORs, but all from unknowns...

I got pass on my ophthalmology basic clerkship but Honors on the subsequent 3 ophtho electives. It depends on your school.

It's not a big deal. The criteria for "honors" is so variable from school to school that it's hard to read into a pass grade. If your letters of recommendation from your home program is good, then that's more reflective of how you did on that elective.

I wouldn't sweat it.

really, grades on your core clerkships are more important than ophtho grade IMHO. Ophtho is usually an elective and the grading schemes are pretty variable which is not the case for your core clerkships.
