i heard from someone that when im applying to med school, all the college courses i have taken will be factored into the gpa and the science gpa... im an incoming freshman in college and this news is starting to stress me out. is this true?

Yup.

But if you did really badly, they'll definitely weigh your actual college grades more. It'll just hurt your cGPA.

Right. All your college classes / grades are looked at. Not high school, to my knowledge.

so both community college classes and 4-year university classes count? fml.

All post-high school level courses that you have taken are considered (including AP classes, but those are not in your GPA). Overall, they don't affect your GPA that much because of how many credits you take, unless you get lower than a C- in the course.

say that i have taken about 10 classes, and i have gotten all A's except for a B- and a B... will that screw me over?

No. Read my post above and link in my signature.

In honor of clubsox's blog, you are all going to the caribbean

Well, to be fair, pretty much anyone who asks about their GPA had better start packing up the sun tan lotion and taking Spanish language courses.

you're not even in college yet - STOP WORRYING.

I took a class in high school and was given the opportunity to pay for college credit while taking it - so I did (why not?). Although, I didn't realize til verification time that I got B's in that class and that brought down my GPA 0.04. But still, that's 0.04. Seriously - nothing to worry about.

Anyway, I hope your neuroses settles down, or else you'll never make it to med school at all. :nono:

Agreed. A single B and B- is what you're afraid of? Seriously, lmao. That makes your cumulative "community college GPA" about a 3.8 by AMCAS standards. Which is about the average GPA at Harvard Medical School.

Chill. Out.

stl2cali2k1, you have broken rules 1 and 10 of my grade posting criteria. For this you shall be punished - forever shall you worry about your GPA, and forever shall you be banished to the Caribbean islands.
