grandfathering

does anybody know if there is "grandfathering" in radiology baord certification?

In what sense. That you can get BC by proving that you 'read x-rays' before 1932 ?
(afaik the only boards that 'grandfather' people are new ones like EM)

I have a relative who was "grandfathered" into IR, but you'd have to have been born in the 19th century to be grandfathered into radiology.

Was your relative in IR born in 19th century?

absolutely not true, EM board stoped certification based on grandfathering since 90ies. In fact board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine which is also issued by Radiology Board can be through gradnfathering. All I wonna know if Interventional Radiology has way through grandfathering.

Back then, they where still 'new' and admitted people based on prior experience + exam.

Radiology board certification exists since 1934. So, unless you practiced radiology before 1934, the ABR won't be able to 'grandfather' you for the diagnostic radiology certificate.
