Graphing equations

If I have the equation Y=3x-2. Then -2 is the y-intercept.

Then if I have the equation in standard form like 3x+2y=6. The x- intercept would be x=2 if I set y=o and the y-intercept would be y=3.
However, if I turn that standard form equation into slope intercept form and I get Y=-(3/2) + 6. According to this equation then the Y-intercept would be 6 and not 3.
So what's up with that? Am I missing something?

Your equations are not equal.
3x + 2y = 6 .
subtract 3x.
2y = -3x +6.
divide by 2.
y=( -3/2) x +3

Thanks I forgot to divide the 6 by 2 to get as the y-intercept
