If a few of the schools you are applying to do not require ( Listed as optional or not listed at all) the GRE/MAT should you still take it and send the scores? or will that not have an impact on the application competitiveness?

If the school says they are optional and you have really good scores I would say send them (they can only help your application)... if they aren't required at all don't send them. The school probably won't even look at them... and it would be a waste of money.

Test scores, even if not require, can make you stand out in a competitive program, and if you have the time and resources to do it then I encourage you to. Of course, there is no guarantee that this would be the reason you were admitted to a program, but it does give you the option to apply to schools that will require the GRE.
