I couldn't find a thread in the PT forum on GRE questions/answers/thoughts, so I'm going to try to start one, or at least have my own question addressed:

My scores are 550 Verbal, 780 quantitative, and a 2.5 writing. The writing score seems almost abysmally low, but the others are fairly good it seems. Should I retake the GRE?

Check the requirements of the schools you want to apply to. Some have a minimum requirement, e.g., 500V/500Q, others don't. The schools I applied to do not have a minimum on the writing part. If there is no minimum, I wouldn't retake it.

I would like to suggest, if you have confidence to crack GRE then you can retake. Because previous score never doesn't matter. Best of luck👍

Agreed with what was said above...some schools do not have a minimum requirement for GRE scores. Your verbal and math scores seem to be above average.
If you want to retake it, I know some dpt programs for sure accept the highest score for each section if you take it more than once. So you may be able to keep your verbal and quantitative score and improve on your writing score if you wanted to.

I agree with jblil. Your verbal score is above average and your quantitative score is exceptional. If the 2.5 AW isn't indicative of your capabilities, and your English composition/communication grades and application essays are great then I wouldn't worry about it. I'd assume that most admission committees wouldn't throw out a strong application solely due to a low AW score.

Thanks everyone for the advice. It appears that all the schools I desperately want to apply to do not have a minimum AW score, so I am not retaking it! Good luck to everyone else!
