GRE score report

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I believe on the ETS website they state that GRE scores are sent to schools twice a month. If you happen to take the GRE right before a score is sent, and your score isn't ready, then you'd have to wait about 2 weeks until your score went out. Then its just transit time from NJ to wherever your school is.

I just retook the GRE and am a little afraid of how long it might take for the scores to arrive at my schools. Unfortunately, I can't order any additional score reports at the moment (it might be too early -- after all, I just finished the test 2 hours ago!). Today's the 11th, so technically the scores SHOULD arrive at my schools before the October 1 deadline. However, I did hear that ETS will only send out scores twice a month, and that the day I order scores will not really have any bearing on how long they might take to get there. Do y'guys think there's a chance my scores might not make it in time, or am I spazzing out over nothing?

Also, how strict are schools in enforcing score report arrival by their deadline? A few schools say that the last date they'll let applicants take the GRE is Oct 1, but then they say that the last date they'll accept scores is also Oct 1, which doesn't quite make sense to me because it takes at least 5 days to send out scores! *confused*
