I'm a new member here, but I have been reading various posts for some time. Anyway, I just wanted to share a great resource that I found on youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/user/mathdude2012
If the link does not show for some reason, just search "Andrey K" under users. As of right now he has 373 videos and his avatar on youtube is a blue pi symbol.
This guy has General Chemistry videos, Physics videos, and Organic Chemistry videos (with logical playlists). So far, in every video I have watched, he has done a great job in explaining the concepts. When I find myself stuck on a concept in EK, and wasting too much time with TBR, I turn to google. Sometimes I find a nice explanation on here or on other youtube videos, but today I found this guy and his videos have each instantly clarified the topics. I have gone through several videos from other users and when I came across his channel, I felt the need to share with someone. I like Khan academy, but I find his videos too slow and dumbed down. Oh yeah, and I have also watched Freelance Teacher, MCATforme, and many other tutors. I should note that I have not watched any of this guys (Andrey K's) organic chemistry videos yet. I have not watched "Moballer's" videos and cannot compare the two, but I did see that he was suggested in another thread here. I have also watched all of the Gold Standard videos, but as I'm sure many of you know, they are very basic and do not nearly cover enough material (still good for a quick viewing IMO and not very time consuming). These videos (Andrey K's) do not appear to be MCAT oriented, but he attempts to teach in a way to make the science a bit more intuitive. So far, I feel that he succeeds.
My pre-med courses did not cover all of the topics tested on the MCAT, so I found this to be a great resource for me. For perspective, I have been using the EK series while supplementing with TBR for the topics that I feel I cannot understand sufficiently by using EK. I also listen to audio osmosis while in the car/gym to drill some basics, but the sound effects, "humor", and lack of visual stimulus, I feel, detract from the learning experience. I love EK's verbal 101 and bio book though.
Anyway, I just wanted to share. I hope some of you find these videos helpful. He has obviously put a lot of effort into creation, organization, and delivery, and it shows.
P.S. Sorry if someone else has suggested this guy elsewhere, but I did a quick search and did not find a similar previous post.
