I'm a new member here, but I have been reading various posts for some time. Anyway, I just wanted to share a great resource that I found on youtube:

http://www.youtube.com/user/mathdude2012
If the link does not show for some reason, just search "Andrey K" under users. As of right now he has 373 videos and his avatar on youtube is a blue pi symbol.

This guy has General Chemistry videos, Physics videos, and Organic Chemistry videos (with logical playlists). So far, in every video I have watched, he has done a great job in explaining the concepts. When I find myself stuck on a concept in EK, and wasting too much time with TBR, I turn to google. Sometimes I find a nice explanation on here or on other youtube videos, but today I found this guy and his videos have each instantly clarified the topics. I have gone through several videos from other users and when I came across his channel, I felt the need to share with someone. I like Khan academy, but I find his videos too slow and dumbed down. Oh yeah, and I have also watched Freelance Teacher, MCATforme, and many other tutors. I should note that I have not watched any of this guys (Andrey K's) organic chemistry videos yet. I have not watched "Moballer's" videos and cannot compare the two, but I did see that he was suggested in another thread here. I have also watched all of the Gold Standard videos, but as I'm sure many of you know, they are very basic and do not nearly cover enough material (still good for a quick viewing IMO and not very time consuming). These videos (Andrey K's) do not appear to be MCAT oriented, but he attempts to teach in a way to make the science a bit more intuitive. So far, I feel that he succeeds.

My pre-med courses did not cover all of the topics tested on the MCAT, so I found this to be a great resource for me. For perspective, I have been using the EK series while supplementing with TBR for the topics that I feel I cannot understand sufficiently by using EK. I also listen to audio osmosis while in the car/gym to drill some basics, but the sound effects, "humor", and lack of visual stimulus, I feel, detract from the learning experience. I love EK's verbal 101 and bio book though.

Anyway, I just wanted to share. I hope some of you find these videos helpful. He has obviously put a lot of effort into creation, organization, and delivery, and it shows.

P.S. Sorry if someone else has suggested this guy elsewhere, but I did a quick search and did not find a similar previous post.

Took a quick look at some of his videos. He explains clearly and succinctly. Good resource, thanks for sharing!

I've been looking for an alternative to chads vids. Ill check this guy out. Thanks!

I actually used this guys videos all throughout my MCAT studies and he proved to be a great asset! he also has a website that organizes the material much better. i think its aklectures.com

Good luck guys!

Can you be even more fake? lol
Anyways, it seems like a good supplementation, especially to brush up on the weaknesses.

To those of you who said thanks, you're very welcome, but it is of course 'Andrey K' whom you should be thanking. I merely thought I would share with a community that has shared so much with me.

I find that brightstorm videos on youtube really help me. I haven't used it much for biology, but it definitely helps for physics. It only has bio, gen chem and physics, and I don't know if it's too basic for MCAT (I'm just about to start studying), but I thought I'd share it. http://www.youtube.com/user/brightstorm2?feature=watch

Thank you for mentioning this! I have also used some of the Gen Chem videos from this channel but I forgot how I found them. I definitely appreciated them. A quick, and admittedly superficial, comparison that I can make is that they seem more in depth and calculation oriented. Andrey's seem to be more about the concepts. He also has videos where he works out simple examples, but they are separated from the conceptual videos, which I find useful to me. Everyone is different, and again I want to point out that the brightstorm videos that I did watch were quite helpful to me. I cannot comment on the other videos that they put out, as they seem to be taught by different instructors.

---
Man could he talk with his hands any more?

Lol. Yes, he is quite animated with his hands. Other than that though, I really like that he doesn't inject extraneous comments or go off on a tangent. He is very focused with each of his videos. It makes me wonder how many times he shoots a video to make sure he has an effective delivery throughout.

---

Anyway, I'm glad that the videos were helpful to some people. They are of course not for everyone. We all start in different places for our MCAT prep, I just happened to find them useful to me and thought others might as well.

Yeah. Honestly, one of the most effective parts with using his videos (for me at least) was that he actually is the one responding to your comments. and usually he responds relatively quickly. and to think that he does it for free? he seems to really care
