Hey everyone,

i was wondering if you guys might be able to help me out with something. i have been asked by my psyd program to help create a new group interview activity/format for this years applicants. i just wanted to check on here to see if anyone had any ideas or activities they did at current/past interview days that they enjoyed. thanks in advance!

I know one question i really liked, the last one in my interview, was "what's one other thing about you that you haven't already told me or that isn't in your application?". I think you got a glimpse of the real people with that question (i also rocked it).

My program does group interviews that are role plays. The group watches a role play of a clinical problem, then must cooperate together in a group, discussing the issues raised in the roleplay, etc. Not only does this provide info about how the applicants think about the issues raised in the roleplay, but it gives the school a great way to evaluate how the applicants work with others.

I had a few group interviews on internship. One site handed out clinical vignettes (based on a number we drew), and we had to discuss the case and offer our interpretation of a potential ethical problem that might come up. Then we discussed it as a group. That worked pretty well I thought. We were in a group of 6 people if I remember correctly.
